Happy Halloween!!

I think I should win the Bad Mama award for the most unprepared for Halloween! My mom found a cute little tiger costume for Clay and I waited until the last minute to try it on him. Let's just say it was a little small, but we managed to get it on him and show him off to a few neighbors around here and his Nan. Next year I promised him I'd go all out since he will be at actual "trick-or-treating" age. Of course by then, he may not even want to wear a costume!

Not too happy to have the tiger on his head, but he actually kept it on!

New Project and a Birthday!

I still love blogging, but right now I've got a new project! My whole plan with starting this blog was to create a yearly book about what's going on with Baby Clay. Now that he's a year old, it's time to work on his first book! I did a little research and found that Blurb.com has a great program you can download. Then you can import your blog and create your book! I've been working on it for the last week and I'm probably about halfway done. Here's a sneak peak...

It's a neat software and I can't wait to see how the book turns out! Now that I've gotten into this book, it makes me want to continue with my "monthly" posts about Baby Clay!

This weekend we also celebrated Mark's mom's birthday!! We went and ate at a wonderful restaurant for lunch called Connor's. I had the Fish N' Chips and Mark had a steak. It was delicious! Clay also enjoyed my fish n' chips! That child will eat ANYTHING! Here are a few pictures from today:

Football and Footie Pajamas!

This past weekend we went down to Auburn for the Kentucky game. The game... not so pretty... but we had a great time! We stayed with our good friends, Tommy and Beth. We ate some good food, drank some good drinks and encountered some really random things!

Random thing #1: While tailgating I was chatting with a guy who was telling us he and his wife were expecting their first child. We then got to talking about where they were from and it happened to be the same city my mom used to drive my sister and I an hour and a half almost every day to take gymnastics. They had the best program, so the hour and a half was well worth it. Anyways... his wife walked up and we started chatting about that and it turns out, we were on the same gymnastics team back when I was in 5th and 6th grade!! I've got to pull my old pictures out and see if I have any of her!

Random thing #2: While at the game, during half time I was looking down a couple of rows and saw someone that looked familiar. I said to Mark "That girl looks just like Kim". Mark looks down there and says... "That is Kim". Kim was one of my closest friends while I was down at Auburn. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and then we randomly ended up in the same apartment complex when we moved from Memphis back to Alabama. We lost touch and haven't seen each other in years! She now has an adorable daughter who will turn two at the beginning of the year... AND I am now vowing to keep up with her on Facebook!

See... random things!!! We had a great time minus the horrible loss and can't wait for the next time we go down there and hang out with our friends (may be sooner than you think, Beth - HA!).

Well, what was Baby Clay doing while we were at the game??? He was at his Nan's, of course, being spoiled rotten!

These last couple of days have been miserable! Poor little baby is cutting some big teeth and he is not a happy camper! One seems to have popped through over night so I'm hoping the others will pop through soon! He's got 3 or 4 that look like they are coming in. I've got him on baby Oragel and Tylenol and it seems to be helping. He slept all night without one peep, so looks like the meds did their job. He's still not back to eating like his normal self, but I'm sure that will come soon. If these 4 come in, that will give him 12 teeth!!!

And since it's been so cold, we've broken out the footie pajamas! I love footie pajamas... I would like to find some in adult size (preferably fleece). I'd wear them all day! Here are a few pictures of my footie pajama'd cutie!

Man! If only Auburn had Baby Clay the other night to show off his football skills, maybe they would have won!

13 Months!

WOW! Baby Clay is 13 months old! When I look at him, I don't see much "baby" in him anymore! Just look...


He looks like a Toddler now!

He's such a busy little guy! He LOVES to play with his big dumptruck and farm. He jabbers all the time! We can't understand him just yet... it sounds like a cross between German and French. He does say Dada constantly (we're working on this) and is adding many more animal sounds to his vocabulary.

A couple of big things have happened since my little man turned 1. As of last week, we are bottle and formula free!!! WOO HOO!!! He LOVES his sippy cups and drinks juice and milk like it's going out of style! We've even gotten rid of the bedtime bottleand it went much more smoothly than I expected! I think I miss it more than he does. It gave me a few more minutes to cuddle with him. Now he let's me rock him long enough to say our prayers and then he's ready to hit the bed! He is still a great eater and eats just about anything we put in front of him. He still loves bananas, waffles, veggie sausage, cheese and avocados.

But I think the biggest thing that has happened is... he is now walking!! Really well! In fact, he's walking much more than he crawls. He's hysterical when he walks! If he's holding something, he will put it in his mouth so he can use his arms to keep his balance.

It's this baby's BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Today Monte turns 6! Six years ago we got our first baby the day before Christmas! I had been looking forever for our first pet and happened to look in the paper on Christmas Eve day and found him! I called the owner and she said that she had someone coming to look at him in a couple of hours... if I got there first and wanted him... he was MINE! So I ran out of the house and drove over there as fast as possible. When she took me downstairs to see him, I saw his mom first... and then he poked his little head out... and that's when I knew he was mine! He was 8 weeks old and only 1 pound 2 oz! He was TINY! The other person who was coming over to look at him happened to come before I left. He was trying to talk me out of him... saying that Yorkies have horrible health problems... messing up their little knees all the time which requires expensive surgeries. Yeah... didn't work buddy! He was MINE!

He's been a wonderful dog these last 6 years! I was worried he'd be really territorial when Clay arrived, but he LOVES Clay! In fact, I think he loves Clay more than he loves me now. They play together so well!

And yesterday was Clay's 13 month birthday! I think I will not do a monthly post every month, but I do want to do one for his 13 month. He's done so many new things this month and I want to remember them! That will be coming soon!!!

Weekend Creativity

This weekend we didn't have much planned, so we had to get creative to entertain Baby Clay. What better fun than a bunch of balls and a baby swimming pool! He had a good ole' time!

He would crawl in and out and loved to throw the balls out of the pool.

Monte even got in on the fun... although, I don't think Monte thought it was as much fun as Clay!

It looks like Clay is 100% over that nasty virus!! And (knock on wood) his daddy and myself have yet to get it... I'm hoping we're in the clear! I'm also praying that the little bit of congestion he developed didn't cause an ear infection... if so, he's gotta get tubes! We go to the doctor next week to get them checked out as well as get his immunizations he missed out on at his well visit that turned into a sick visit. I'm also wondering if they are going to have the Swine Flu vaccine available. I need to stop reading things about the vaccine on the Internet! At first I was all for it... now I'm going to have to get his doctor to convince me. I LOVE his pediatrician and trust her judgement, so I'm sure she will give me the answers I need.

Daycare! Here We Come!!!

Someone is feeling better...

MUCH BETTER!!!!

Yesterday, Clay woke up from his 5 1/2 hour nap and had absolutely NO FEVER!!!!! His temperature has stayed normal ever since! We kept him home from Daycare one more day since the rule is: They have to be fever/symptom free - without medicine - for at least 24 hours. I'm crossing my fingers that when he wakes up from this nap today that he's still fever free! If so, it's back to daycare he goes... tomorrow! I know that they miss him there... and I will miss having him around here too *sniff*. He really is such a good baby! He's taken 5 + hour naps every day so far! I've been able to get most of my work done during nap time and bedtime!

And Mark and I - so far - KNOCK ON WOOD - have not gotten this nasty virus! I'm hoping it stays that way!

He's even back to drinking out of his sippy cup. (Yeah, I gave in and he had many bottles of juice! Had to get the fluids in him somehow!)

And, he's back to getting into trouble! He knows he's not supposed to be messing with the fireplace!!!
